| Bio | Edelquinn Clementina Akighir is a Nigerian development professional, entrepreneur, communicator, and community-impact advocate committed to advancing the empowerment of women, girls, youth, and underserved communities through education, skills development, entrepreneurship, mentorship, research, and purposeful service. She serves as Deputy Programs Director of the Pan-African Catholic Theology and Pastoral Network (PACTPAN), where she contributes to programme development, membership engagement, communications, and initiatives that promote pastoral engagement, human dignity, youth empowerment, gender equity, inclusion, and community development across Africa. Edelquinn is the Founder of Quinnybel Ventures – Bakes & Confectioneries and a certified HACCP professional, combining entrepreneurship with social impact. Through Quinnybel Ventures, she established the Quinnybel Skills Acquisition and Empowerment Project, which in 2025 trained and empowered 30 women and girls with practical livelihood skills and starter kits to support their transition into entrepreneurship and sustainable livelihoods. The initiative has since evolved into an annual empowerment project, reflecting her commitment to equipping women and young people with practical skills and economic opportunities. Her commitment to youth and girls’ development is also demonstrated through her mentorship with the Teach For Nigeria Mentorship Programme and her work in 2024 under The Right to Be a Girl project, where she mentored young girls across six locations in AMAC, Abuja—two communities and four schools. She is also an advocate for the prevention of Sexual and Gender-Based Violence (SGBV) and promotes the dignity, safety, education, and empowerment of women and girls. Academically, Edelquinn has a background in French and Linguistics. She also received professional training in Basic Journalism from the Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria (FRCN), Lagos, and has experience in journalism, writing, editing, proofreading, communications, and community engagement. Her professional and community interests span youth development, women and girls’ empowerment, gender equality, disability inclusion, education, social entrepreneurship, communication, research, and grassroots community development. She has also been involved in humanitarian and community-service initiatives, including health outreach and civic engagement. Edelquinn is passionate about using education, entrepreneurship, mentorship, communication, research, and service to create sustainable opportunities, restore dignity, and contribute meaningfully to the transformation of individuals and communities. |
